About Us/Me

Hi there! Welcome to our page. We (Kris, Brian, and Ezra) are so excited to tell you a little bit about ourselves and our family.

Brian grew up in the suburb of Worthington, just outside of Columbus, OH. He has two younger brothers, Matt and Aaron, who, along with their partners, are embracing their new roles as uncles and aunts. Brian's father is retired and he spends his time volunteering, teaching GED classes, and showing Ezra around the garden. Brian’s mother still works in a clinical laboratory where she does cancer research. Brian's parents are loving grandparents to Ezra and are eager to share their amazing dinners and piano lessons with another grandchild. After high school, Brian went to The Ohio State University where he studied Accounting. Today, Brian has a fulfilling career working in government where he oversees work related to national medical research. This work is a constant reminder to Brian that life's challenges may be complicated, but that with support we can all see happiness in our lives.

Kris is from rural northeast Ohio, and the second-youngest of seven kids in a blended family. After high school, Kris studied Communications at Thiel College in Pennsylvania. Despite being spread out across the country, he and his siblings all come together for an annual charity motorcycle run in their late stepmother's name. Kris’s mother is a doting Nana to Ezra and his cousins. While not working on homemade ice cream recipes, Kris is the Director of Operations of a large staffing company that helps people find employment. He takes pride in his job and in helping people get to work.

We met in 2014 on a popular dating app. After a short while of chatting, we had our first date at a pizza shop in Columbus, Ohio. Since that night, we've been inseparable. We have shared loves for cooking, traveling, music, playing games, laughter, and now, being fathers. We matched with Ezra’s mom a month before he was born, last June 2021. The adoption process was an emotional, intense, and awe-inspiring experience. Being fathers to Ezra continues to be the best adventure in our lives and a constant chance for laughter and joy. We also have two cats, Sara and Mittens, who are loving big sisters and wise enough to stay out of Ezra’s walking path.

Being parents is the greatest joy of our lives. We are excited to grow our family and promote Ezra to Big Brother status. Thank you for considering us.

About You

As you make choices to prepare for the future of your child, it may be overwhelming and emotional. Your decision to pursue adoption and allow us to build a family in a different configuration is brave and courageous.

While you think about the family you want to see for your child, we want to share our commitments to you. We will put our child's safety and happiness first. We will support and honor the level of openness and involvement you want to see. We will raise our child in a nurturing environment supported by the love of friends and family.

We believe that family is more than people who share genetics. Family is about making a choice to love and support another person without condition. We live this truth each day as parents to our son, Ezra. We are so excited to grow our family and are happy to share more of our story with you.

Thank you for considering being a part of our family.
