We both have completed graduate degrees and know the importance of education and hard work. Ryan has a doctorate degree and is a Research Scientist at a Fortune 500 company and Esther is an Eco-Friendly Entrepreneur and Early Childhood Educator. Esther developed a plant-based backyard insect spray that’s safe for people, pets, and the planet. Having a safe home and environment is crucial for having a healthy life. Besides work, we love traveling, cooking new foods, hiking, and spending time with our friends and family. We are practicing Christians who believe that through service and social justice, we can make the world a better place!
In our free time, you will find us at your local park with our dog Benny. He is a rescue from Puerto Rico and is very well-mannered, he does not have a mean bone in him. All the kids in our neighborhood love him and come up to hug and pet him when they see us walk by their homes. We are very active, besides walks with Benny, we both lead very active lifestyles. Ryan likes to hike, golf, play basketball, and ping pong. Esther loves taking yoga, strength training, and cycle classes at the gym. We can’t wait to be those parents who take their kids on hikes and teach them how to play sports. Besides sports, we will instill faith, hard work, and respect to others in our child.

We are committed to having an open and honest relationship with you because we know you will always play a role in our child’s life. While we don’t know what our future relationship will look like, we hope it will be one of mutual respect, openness, and love. As an interracial couple, we understand the importance of diversity and inclusion. Esther is originally from Mumbai, India, and immigrated to the United States at age seven. Our family, friends, and neighborhood are authentically diverse just like us. We embrace other cultures and love learning from those who are different than us. We have navigated many complex issues around race in our marriage and feel well-equipped to do the same with a child.
Our Parenting Philosophy
Being parents has always been a dream of ours. We plan on parenting in a similar way as we grow our relationship. We will put communication and compassion first, we build each other up and make sure that we become better people every day. We live by the quote, “See that no day passes in which you do not make yourself a somewhat better creature”. With thirteen years of knowing each other we’ve done a lot of self-reflection and growing as individuals and as a couple. We are committed to learn and grow from being parents but know that we have a solid foundation to provide a loving and stable home to your child. We both complement each other with our commitment to schedules and tasks while being flexible when things don’t go as planned. We dedicate uninterrupted time for each other because putting your family first is a priority for us. We plan on using conscious gentle parenting and have involvement from our friends and family to help navigate the journey of being parents.
