Hello! We’re Jamie and Kim and we’re so glad you can get to know us a little. We hope that you’re able to get a feel for the type of family we are and the stable, loving home we hope to provide a special child. Our road to parenthood hasn’t been at all what we’d planned or expected. While we do have one biological son, Liam, our parenting journey has also included infertility and pregnancy loss. Adoption is something we’ve always wanted for our family, even before we were married. We know that now is the time we’re being called to adopt and our hearts - and our home - are ready.  We met in high school back in 2001 and got married the summer of 2006. We recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and feel like we owe our strong marriage to the love and commitment we have for each other and the faith we share. After spending several years living in Nashville, we moved back to the Midwest to be closer to both of our families. Jamie’s family lives only a few hours away from our house and we visit them as often as we can. Kim’s family lives on the East Coast. Her mom loves being a “Popo” (which is Chinese for “grandmother”) and visits us several times a year.  Jamie is a firefighter/paramedic for a local fire department. He enjoys cycling, woodworking, hiking, camping and working out. Kim works from home as a writer, photographer and artist. She enjoys reading, playing piano, baking, running and DIY projects. Liam was born in 2013. He is imaginative, kind and so excited to become a big brother. We have one cat, Samson, who is extremely patient with little ones, loves having his chin scratched and enjoys watching the bird in our neighborhood from the window sill. Family time is extremely important to us. Both of our works schedules are fairly flexible, so we will often move things around to take a last minute trip to visit family or go camping. Some of our favorite things to do together include trips to the zoo, hiking and camping, swimming and spending time at our neighborhood playground. We love the outdoors and discovering beautiful places. In our 15+ years together, we’ve experienced adventures like snorkeling in Jamaica, hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and backpacking through the mountains. It is important to us that we share our love for adventure with our children.
